- Feminist Criticism
Some feminist feel that as women we should have the right to do what they want with their bodies, because it is their bodies and they should be able to make that decision. The author believes “ through her feminist perspective, Sherwin argues that what is important is not only a woman right to choose, but instead a movement address all of the conditions of women’s liberation.” Understand that it is not only about feminist believing that women have their rights to do as they please but also putting out the condition that a women will have to endure.
But there are also pro life feminist people who oppose abortions, believe otherwise with just letting women believe it is okay to get abortions because of their rights. who say there are other method of not being pregnant. The author argues “women can avoid unwanted pregnancies by simply avoiding sexual intercourse.” I can infer that a pro-life feminist don’t believe in just because you are a women you have the right to get an abortion because it is your body. You have to understand that we all make choices some good and some bad, we can avoid a lot by making better discussion.
- Marxist Criticism
A Marxist would believe that “The fetus, according to a Marxist, becomes a person when he is judged as such by “someone of higher wisdom.” The humanity of the fetus depends upon how the mother perceives the “social relationship” that exists between them. If the mother desires to keep the baby, then she “fantasizes” it into becoming a human being. But, if she does not want the pregnancy, it is something else entirely. Her opinion of the fetus thereby denies it of personhood.Basically that it is all up to the mother how the outcome of her baby would be.
